Low angle block plane
Block planes are wonderful tools for creating a quick chamfer on an edge. I use one mainly for chamfering edges on jigs and other tools I make from wood.
A chamfer is sometimes referred to as a "bevel" but that is not totally accurate.
"Bevel" refers to the shape of something at its end, usually terminating in an edge.
"Chamfer" refers to the shape where two planes come together to make a right angle. The chamfer takes off the "corner" and creates a new tiny plane.
