FINISHING--Using Japan Drier and removing fine scratches

Flood the guitar body with Japan Drier. This will help the boiled linseed oil (BLO) to set up faster. Typically, it can take BLO 12 to 18 hours to completely harden. The Japan Drier will get things moving in half that time.

Japan Drier also "points out" any scratches that need more work before you apply the final oil finish coats.

In this video I used a product from Crimson Guitars in the U.K. called High Build Finish. It's a blend of oils that polymerize even faster, and multiple coats create a beautiful, glowing built up finish.
